Hi Lais, I've just watched your video here, How to Eat Meat AND Fight Climate Change. It's both funny and informative - nice! Have you thought of vlogging about the climatarian diet in particular, as a way of cutting down on meat without having to cut it out? I think the climatarian diet is based on much the same scientific data that you based your video on, notably the fact that beef has a far higher impact than pork or poultry. I've been happily eating a climatarian diet for the last few months... see more and haven't had withdrawal symptoms from burger or steaks because I can still get my meat fix from a nice piece of pork or some barbecue chicken. Yum!

My thoughts exactly. A vegan diet is the ideal, but I think it's not smart to make people think that if you want to eat meat, then there's nothing you can do to reduce your footprint - so you may as well eat whatever you want in whatever amount your stomach can handle.

I think that by raising awareness of small changes you can do in your life in order to be more sustainable we can motivate a larger amount of people, which is why I think the climatarian diet is so smart.

That is true and there are studies coming out on how the world would look like if everyone changed to a vegan or vegetarian diet. If that happened it would certainly be great for the planet and for people's health. But when scripting this video I was thinking about the meat eater. The person that for whatever reason, has no intention of changing their diet. What are the small changes they can do in order to reduce their impact?

I may be pessimistic here but I do think that having a whole world of vegetarians or vegans is extremely unlikely. However, if well informed, the meat eater can also make smarter choices. While that will not have the same impact as a full vegan diet, I believe it does make a difference.

Certainly. I had to cut the part about water out of the video as it was already too number heavy, but you are right, the water resources used are huge!

I'm glad you liked the video. This channel is a little passion project I'm starting on sustainable development for beginners. Btw, if you or anyone here in the network has any suggestions on themes, I'd be more than happy to hear them :)

youtube.com — A quick, fun video explaining the reasons why reducing meat consumption and knowing what to eat can help mitigate climate change. Good for explaining to your friends why you're eating weird.
